Angers Curse from Sweden talking about vegetarianism, sxe, music and other cool shits.

Monday, May 18th, 2009

So let me give it a banal begining.. Could you present you and your band in few words?
Ok. It’s me, Magnus - vocals, Tobias on guitar, his brother John on drums and Andreas who’s our new bassplayer, we’ve just madee 1 practice with him so far, but we know him pretty good before

How did everything start?
Hmm, we started Angers Curse as a project at first. Me, Tobias and John were in another band called Break Me, but me and John quit but Tobias and the rest of the other members continued playing but under another name and in Swedish, with Swedish lyrics. They are called Stick & Brinn (something like fuck off and burn in hell). Then we just got thogether and started playing again, because me and Tobias had talked about doing a band like this. And Tobias, John and the old bassplayer had another band before called Blacked Out. So the idea first was just to continue that band with me on vocals, but we wanted something else, not to just play the oldschool songs they had, but to start from the beggining. So we started writing songs, recorded a demo and then everything just kept on rolling.

What made you enter the hardcore scene not only as fans but as musicians also?
I can only speak for myself I have always wanted to play in a band. I started with some friends in highschool then I just kept on playing in diffrent bands with diffrent people. I wanted more than just listening to and looking at bands. I wanted to be on stage, to write songs, to record and release records, and go on tours. I think its pretty much the same with Tobias but his brother on the other hand doesn’t listen to hardcore. He´s listening to Bring Me The Horizon and black metal. Andreas has been into hardcore for a long time, he puts up shows and runs a label. Doing much in his town, he lives in örebro andthe rest of us lives in Västerås.
im making you write so much stuff

Can you point any specific bands that influenced you?
Right Brigade, Judge, Blood For Blood and Cro-mags are really big influences.

Billy The Kid

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

Hello pals, thanks for doing this interview. Please introduce yourself to the readers. Most of the information in the web is in spanish so we are not very familiar with Billy The Kid.
Hey! Thank you so much for taking the time! Well this is Manuel and I’m the drummer. There’s Pablo and Alejandro, both on guitar, Eddy on the vocals, Luna on bass and Perez throwing rhymes.

How did you choose your name? Why Billy The Kid?
Well truth is when we started this band it was just a side project, something to do on our free time so we didn’t really care all that much and at the same time we didn’t really want to go for the typical hardcore name, so Eddy said Billy The Kid and we were all cool with it. Turned out this band would become something serious to all of us and then when we thought of changing the band’s name people actually seemed to find it catchy and liked it, I guess it sticks to your mind or something.

Wisdom In Chains: Justice will never be given to the working class, however, the working class united can take what they what

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Hello, I’d like to start with the usual question, can you introduce the band members? How long have you been playing with that line-up and have you ever changed it? What do you do for a living besides the band (I imagine WiC doesn’t pay your bills…)?
I’m Richie, I play guitar, also on guitar is Tony, on bass we got Suicide, on drums Shano, and singing is Mad Joe. We have been playing for awhile now, not exactly sure how long, this isn’t the original line up, but it’s the line up of all of our live shows except for one, and it’s the line up from our last two full lengths. WIC does not pay the bills, mad Joe is a local 608 Carpenter in NYC, Shano works at some sort of warehouse, Suicide is a local drunk, Tony is a pro musician, and I am a local 18a Concrete laborer in NYC.

You have already released three full lengths and a DVD, what are your plans for 2009? Any chances to see you in Europe?
Well in 2009 expect another full length, and hopefully we will be back in Europe in the summer.

Interview with xEYE OF JUDGEMENTx

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Let’s start with the good old thing - you presenting your band, its history and other members?
I’m Roel, I play guitar in Eye of judgement. We are a full vegan straight egde band. We started out in 2004 and released our demo in January 2005, that was re-released in New Eden Records. We released The New Crusade in 2006, also on NER and did a US west coast tour in the fall of 2006 The New Crusade consists of 7 new songs and the demo. In 2007 we started recording Belligerent, but it wasn’t finished until August 2008. Belligerent will be released on Catalyst in early 2009. We have toured in Europe a couple of times and we are planning a full US tour in 2009.

What is the reason for you to be a part of the hardcore scene?
Well, hardcore is the music that was most appealing to all of us when we were growing up, and hardcore is also the music that channels emotions best it’s not like we chose it from a range of musical styles, rather sxe and veganism are more or less embedded.

Interview with Lions Den

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Hello there, how are you? We’ll start with the same old question, so can you please tell me the history of the band, present its members and so on…
Erik: Lions Den started out as a side-project between Alex from Go For Broke, Simon from The Romance and myself. We wanted do a demo in the vein of Right Brigade and I wanted to sing in a band. Shortly after we did the demo Alex had to move to Stockholm and Simon didn’t have enough time between his other bands and work to go further with Lions Den. I then talked to my close friends Goran, Viktor and Mike and asked if they’d be up to the band with me and they were all siked about it. At first Lions Den weren’t meant to be a Straight Edge-band or a serious thing but when Goran, Viktor and Mike joined we all felt that this was the direction we all wanted for the band. Johan later joined the band on guitar. As we speak Mike has made the decision to leave the band to focus on his art school and we’re pretty bummed out about it but Gustav, who is a great dude, will take care of the bass. So our line-up for the band is: me (Erik) on vocals, Goran drums, Viktor and Johan on guitars and Gustav on Bass.

Do any of you play / played in other bands?
Erik: Goran has played in some killerbands like Outlast, Bonds Of Trust, Crew Cut and Another Reason. He also plays in Swedens hardest band Stay Hungry. Look out for that one!
